In-house counsel quits

Securities and mutual fund specialist Hoene has joined Wall Street firm Carter Ledyard & Milburn as counsel in its New York financial institutions practice group.

The former deputy director of the division of investment management at the Securities and Exchange Commission, she has worked for major financial institutions such as AIG and Mitchell Hutchins Asset Management, a subsidiary of PaineWebber.

The firm says Hoene will focus on mutual funds and the representation of investment advisers.

Robert McTamaney, head of corporate at Carter Ledyard, says: “[Hoene's comprehensive knowledge of investment companies and the legal and regulatory issues affecting the financial industry will further enhance our capabilities to provide the highest quality of legal service to our clients.”
