Walmart selects White & Case partner as Central America GC

The appointment becomes effective on 8 April 2013. As executive vice president and general director for legal and institutional matters of Wal-Mart de México (Walmex), Sepúlveda will be responsible for the company’s legal issues, ethics, corporate affairs, business development and asset protection areas.

Sepúlveda is also due to be nominated as secretary of Walmex’s board of directors at the next board meeting.It is a newly created role.

Sepúlveda is a corporate and capital markets specialist who has acted for Mexican issuers, arrangers and purchasers in capital markets transactions globally. He also advises banks, financial institutions and corporates on regulatory, finance and tax matters.

Walmex, a subsidiary of the US company Walmart, has 2,361 shops, restaurants and other outlets in Mexico and another 646 across Central America. It has been publicly listed on the Mexican Stock Exchange since 1977.
