Birmingham firm Wragge & Co's project finance and transport project lawyers hosted a lunch last week for the Government Office to examine the Private Finance Initiative's effect on infrastructure projects. A group of transport experts voiced concerns about the administrative processes involved in developing transport infrastructure projects for the benefit of the community. Michael Whitehouse, head of Wragges' railway group, said: "There must be more consultation on the transfer of risk, a fundamental aspect of PFI, before the competitive process can begin to permit more feedback from the Government on how best to structure projects." Other speakers included Sue Griffin and Peter Langley, from the Government Office, and David Mann, of PowerGen.
