Wilde Sapte has closed a major PFI and DBFO deal in two months. The firm has been advising the Welsh Office on the design, build, finance and operate (DBFO) of the 19.25 mile A55 extension across Anglesey, due to be open to traffic in 2001. The £170m deal has taken just over two months to complete - from the choice of a preferred bidder to financial closure - or at a rate of about three miles per day. Cameron McKenna advised UK Highways A55 Limited, the consortium building and operating the road, while Allen & Overy were advisers to the lenders.
