Two-partner West End firm Keene Marsland closed last week with the move of one of its partners to London media and entertainment specialists Harbottle & Lewis. Bob Mitchell, who this week joins Harbottle & Lewis as a senior associate in the sports law department, said the split with his partner John Deane was amicable, after the two decided to go their separate ways. Deane was unavailable for comment and Mitchell declined to make a statement about Deane's future moves. There are two other firms also known as Keene Marsland, one in the City and one in Tunbridge Wells, which are unaffected by this closure. All three firms were branch offices of the same practice until 1991, when it dissolved leaving three different firms all allowed to practise under the same name.
