The Vice-Chancellor, Sir Richard Scott, attacked the high fees in the civil courts last week in a lecture at the College of Law sponsored by Clyde & Co. Describing the policy of making courts self-funding as "unacceptable", Scott proposed that court fees be replaced by charging firms for using the planned IT network to streamline court administration.
