In brief: Trainee heads off to the movies

Charles Lucas & Marshall trainee David Ballantine has been seconded to the film production company which made last year's smash hit movie Four Weddings and a Funeral. From this month Ballantine will work on a number of film projects at Working Title, where he will report to the company's head of legal affairs. "It is a terrific opportunity for me. I have always wanted to specialise in legal work for the film industry and this is another step towards that," said Ballantine.
