Construction lawyer Tony Woolf, former senior partner at London firm Freedmans, has died. He joined W H Thompson in 1956, conducted the first disputed asbestosis trial and subsequently rose to partner. At Freedmans he specialised in law relating to the building and engineering industries and became senior partner of the firm in 1983. Woolf was a former chair of the Lawyers' Ecology Group and a member of the Council for Service and Society.
