In brief: Patent Office trims fees by 21 per cent

The Patent Office has cut fees for patent examinations from £130 to £70. The cuts, effective from this year, will see the administrative costs of obtaining a UK patent drop 21 per cent, from £285 to £225. Efficiencies in the Patent Office's operation have been credited for the fee cuts.
