Adrian Montague, co-head of global project finance at Dresdner Kleinwort Benson and previously a partner at Linklaters & Paines, has been appointed to lead the projects side of the Treasury's PFI task force. Reporting directly to Geoffrey Robinson, the Paymaster General, he will be responsible for assuring the commercial viability of all significant projects coming through over the next two years. Montague, who will be paid £160,000, is thought to have accepted a large drop in income, but a Treasury spokesman said that he was eager for a challenge and keen to do something in the public service. The task force policy team will be led by civil servant Peter Wanless.
