McDermott Will & Emery, the US firm, has appointed Professor Abram Chayes, former legal adviser to the Kennedy administration, as international counsel based at its Boston office. Harvard law professor Chayes was an adviser during the Cuban missile crisis and represented Nicaragua against the US in the World Court over the Reagan administration's support for the Contra guerrillas.
