In brief: Lawyers aim to raise cash for homeless

The Young Solicitors' Group is hoping to raise u25,000 in a charity quiz night in support of Shelter. The event, held during Shelter Week from 20 to 24 February, is the first charity programme organised by the 40,000-member group. YSG national committee member and Rawlins Davy partner, Paul Verlander, says the group aims to run quiz nights in at least 25 venues and the money raised by the group will be used to employ a second solicitor to specialise in housing law in the charity's legal services section.
