In brief: Hoon takes legal aid consultation to Cardiff

Geoff Hoon, the Lord Chancellor's parliamentary secretary, will meet Welsh solicitors in Cardiff this Thursday as part of the consultation process on proposed changes to legal aid. Two weeks ago he was due to meet solicitors in Bristol, but he cancelled after the Bristol office of the Law Society issued a press release which said solicitors in the city were "dismayed" by the government's reform plans.
