In brief: Dyson backs directory of black lawyers

HIGH Court judge Mr Justice Dyson has called on the Law Society and Bar Council to back a directory of black lawyers. “The committees of the Law Society and the Bar Council have been working hard to reduce racial prejudice within the two professions,” he said at its launch. “It is clear that there is a long way to go, although some progress has been achieved. Dyson said the directory is aimed at informing people who want to instruct a specifically black lawyer, and to help large public bodies or companies in implementing their equal opportunities policies.
