Peter Scaman, KPMG's head of corporate finance for the North-Eastern region, will have consultant status in the firm since Law Society rules do not allow him to be a partner. Dibbs' managing partner Nigel Knowles said that his firm was "determined to ensure that lawyers were not left behind in the development of professional service firms". Andrew Darwin, head of Dibbs' commercial practice group, said the appointment was part of the firm's response to the increasing demand from clients for more comprehensive and sophisticated services.
