Malcolm Strang Steel, of Edinburgh firm W&J Burness, has been appointed Crown Estate Solicitor for Scotland. Strang Steel, who won the single appointment in a tendering process, will be responsible for commercial and rural property, marine and fish farming interests and litigation on behalf of the estate. A spokesman for the estate said Strang-Steel won the tender because he had a good understanding of the estate's requirements. Former Crown Estate Solicitor Duncan Clark, of Anderson Strathern, is retiring this year.
