In brief: Bitel takes London Marathon post

Max Bitel, Greene partner Nick Bitel has been appointed chief executive of the London Marathon. Bitel, who has given the marathon legal advice since 1984, will work on a part-time basis. The marathon's newly-appointed chair Jim Clarke says of the

appointment: "Nick's experience in sport - among other things giving legal advice to the Ryder Cup and the Wimbledon Championships - will be of great assistance in making certain that the London Marathon is always the world's best."
