Attorney General John Morris will today (Monday) be asked to make a statement on the case of prosecutor Maria Bamieh, who won her case against the Crown Prosecution Service for racial discrimination. Her Member of Parliament, Andrew Dismore, is due to put a written question to Morris, asking him to comment on the case and its implications. Bamieh, representing herself, recently won her case at a Bedford employment tribunal against the CPS for racial discrimination in a promotion bid. She had earlier refused a settlement worth u110,000 and now awaits damages to be set.
