In brief: Ashursts expert wins IPC co-chair

Ashurst Morris Crisp litigation partner John Evans has been appointed co-chair of the International Practice Committee of the International Association of Defence Counsel. Evans is a specialist in the defence of multi-plaintiff litigation in the toxic tort arena and will share the committee's chair with Chuck Preuss of the San Francisco firm Preuss Walker and Shanagher. Ashurst also recently appointed former World Bank counsel Martin Stewart-Smith as a senior member of its Energy and Major Projects Group. Stewart-Smith served for more than two years in the Private Sector Development Unit of the World Bank's legal department, based in Washington DC.
