In brief: Advice on hand for city's bomb victims

Manchester lawyers have staged a series of free advice sessions to help people affected by the recent IRA bomb. The sessions, which were held at Manchester town hall, were organised by the Manchester law society and were supported by the council and the chamber of commerce. A panel of lawyers offered advice on insurance, property, personal injury and employer-related legal problems. Anne Kershaw, president of the local law society, said the scheme had been designed to avoid ambulance chasing allegations.
