IBM IP head jumps ship to Microsoft

Microsoft has poached the intellectual property (IP) chief of rival technology giant IBM. Marshall Phelps will manage Microsoft’s entire IP portfolio from its West Coast HQ as vice-president and deputy general counsel for IP.
