IBM chairman takes post at Beauchamps

Dublin-based Beauchamps is restructuring itself along corporate lines as it recruits its first non-lawyer company chairman.

Tom Hardiman, currently chairman of IBM International Treasury Services Compa

ny and the National Institute for Technology Management, will take on the managerial role.

Hardiman's remit is to develop a commercially-orientated approach to business for the firm.

Hardiman has also been director-general of RTE, Ireland's TV and radio station, and president of the Confederation of Irish Industry.

Beauchamps managing partner Niall Coleman says: “It can only do us a huge amount of good to bring all those years of expertise and experience to our partner table.”

Beauchamps sits just outside Ireland's magic circle of McCann Fitzgerald, William Fry, Arthur Cox and A&L Goodbody.
