IBB

UK 200 position: 145

Uxbridge-based IBB bucked the dwindling turnover trend it had experienced in recent years by boosting revenue by seven per cent to £13.5m in 2012.

Growth was driven primarily by the firm’s commercial dispute resolution practice, which grew by 31 per cent in 2011–12.

It was also a good year for IBB’s private client and charities practices, which grew by eight and five per cent respectively. The combination of a strong push on the business development side and significant hires in the charity sector, including partner Jo Coleman from Farrer & Co in 2010, have reaped considerable results and seen the firm gain more than 40 new clients in this sector over the past 18 months.

In other significant client wins, in late 2011 IBB was one of only four firms to be appointed to Bellway Homes' slimmed-down legal panel.

IBB’s overall growth went straight to the bottom line, with average profit per equity partner rising from £179,000 to £194,000 last year and overall net profit growing from £2.3m to £2.5m. Equity shares ranged from £138,000 to £241,000.
