US firm Hunton & Williams has won work in the Philip-pines advising the authorities on the privatisation of state-owned electricity company National Power Corporation (Napocor).
The firm is acting on the sale of Napocor's transmission networks and generating plants. Hong Kong managing partner Edward Koehler said: "We were fortunate to win the mandate through a competitive bidding process with a number of international firms." The firm's effort will be coordinated from Hong Kong, where partner Kelly Malone will take the lead role. Thailand will also play a part, with Bangkok-based William Bradley and Robert Fitzgibbons focusing on the privatisation. William Young, a litigation and antitrust partner in the Washington DC office, is advising on regulatory matters.
