This year, The Lawyer’s annual ranking of the largest UK law firms by turnover is available as an interactive, digital benchmarking tool. For the first time this will allow you to manipulate each data set against the metrics of your choice.
Bonuses Annual bonuses for fee-earners determined by hours utilised and can be up to 15 per cent of salary. For support staff, the bonus is dependent on the firm’s performance.
Training Each practice generates its own education. Training and development throughout partner, fee-earner and practice support population.
Appraisals No 360° appraisal system.
Partner progression Ninety per cent of partners are home-grown, 10 per cent laterals. Partner selection begins at an assessment centre and includes psychometric testing (occupational personality questionnaires, verbal and numerical reasoning tests).
Billable hours target 1,250 for partners, 1,500 for assistants, 1,000 for trainees.
