Baker & McKenzie, Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton, Cravath Swaine & Moore, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Gibson Dunn & Crutcher, have won roles on Hewlett-Packard’s (HP) new global panel of external advisers.
It follows the review of HP’s Europe, Middle East and Africa (Emea) panel earlier this year (5 September 2011).
US firms Dewey & LeBoeuf, Drinker Biddle & Reath and Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati were also thought to have been in the running.
The three-year panel will cover all practice areas and will still enable HP to give mandates to other firms on specific matters.
It will operate alongside the Emea panel, which was drawn up in May and gave places to Freshfields, Bakers and Bird & Bird.
Freshfields, Gibson Dunn and Drinker Biddle all advised HP on its bid for UK IT giant Autonomy earlier this year (19 August 2011).
