Howes Percival Solicitors partner Andrew Barnes has been elected as the firm’s new managing partner.
Barnes was one of the founding members of the four-office firm. He will succeed Alan Kefford, who has served as the firm’s managing partner for the past 16 years.
Kefford is expected to stand down from his role in April next year, after announcing his intentions to retire. He will continue working as a consultant to the firm for a further 12 months.
Barnes heads Howes Percival’s commercial litigation department, which has grown into one of the region’s largest litigation teams, winning a succession of government contracts during the past nine years.
Barnes said the firm’s strategy was to become one of the key players in East Anglia and the East Midlands.
“Our aim is to be up there with firms such as Mills & Reeve and Eversheds,” he said. “With the growing level of economic activity in Norfolk and East Anglia we hope to build on that and take the firm to new levels.”
