  • Just 'LGB'?

While I'm pleased to read about how companies are now embracing diversity and actively trying to get into the top 100 list of companies where sexuality is a non-issue, I find it interesting to note the distinct lack of the modern 'LGBT' acronym here.
For many years, transgendered people have fought for equality alongside lesbians, gay men and bisexual people but their efforts are often overlooked and, in many cases, purposefully ignored. It is disappointing to see that trend continue here with the use of the now very outdated 'LGB' acronym.

  • Many people feel there is a diversity mafia - especially at law firms like Pinsent Masons where lawyers like Adrian Barlow are extremely powerful. The LGBT cause is a good one but there is often no acceptance of the other side - those with more traditional views who don't want to hear about the LGBT agenda all the time. There is zero sensitivity for these more traditional people who are simply, and crassly, framed as bigots then swept aside. Many straight people are terrified by the ferocity of the gay rights movement and lack of understanding of those who hold alternative views. It is this ferocity, rather than the lifestyle itself, that lose the LGBT agenda its support.
