Houthoff snares three from Simmons

Dutch firm Houthoff Buruma has strengthened its corporate practice with a three-lawyer team from Simmons & Simmons.

Partner Willem de Nijs Bik, who began his career with Simmons legacy firm Nolst Trenité, is a specialist in M&A and energy will join the firms transactions practice group in Amsterdam.

De Nijs Bik brings with him two associates from Simmons; Jacques Kröner and Baukje Dreimuller, both corporate lawyers.

Houthoff Buruma is a 64-partner firm with offices in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, London, Brussels and Luxembourg.

The firm’s turnover for 2009-2010 was €107m, putting it thirteenth in Europe according to The Lawyer’s European 100 publication (TheLawyer.com).
