Houthoff Buruma names litigator as co-managing partner

Meijer is stepping down after serving one four-year term on the firm’s management team, working alongside fellow managing partner Philippe Creijghton and finance director Rob Badoux. He will return to full-time corporate fee-earning.

Rijlaarsdam was elected unanimously and was put forward for the role after consultation within the partnership. Like Meijer, he will combine the managing partner job with fee earning.

Meanwhile, Creijghton has begun a second four-year term of office, having originally been elected in 2007 alongside Meijer.

Houthoff celebrated a strong 2010, seeing turnover rise 8.4 per cent to €116.5m, according to figures supplied by the firm for The Lawyer European 100survey. The firm is the 16th largest in Europe with 63 partners and almost 300 fee-earners, with offices in Brussels and London as well as the Netherlands.
