| Sometimes in management you have to make calls
you would rather not. Last year it fell to Beachcroft
managing partner Paul Murray to make those tough
decisions, as the firm instigated a revolutionary
restructuring in a bid to boost profit.
At the end of the year Beachcroft began to
implement a restructuring that saw its private client
team axed, London’s unremunerative projects team
moved to Bristol and Birmingham’s professional risks
department facing a move to Manchester or Bristol.
The moves followed the restructuring of the
partnership’s modified lockstep earlier last year.
Beachcroft also converted to LLP status in May last
year and formed a new seven-partner management
board led by senior partner Simon Hodson and
Murray. With record half-year results announced by
Beachcroft in November, the Murray-led initiatives
appear to be paying off.
