| A partner at Slaughter and May since 1994, Nilufer
von Bismarck is a corporate generalist in the
classic Slaughters mould. But her modest
demeanour has not stopped her from attracting
attention.
The past 12 months has been a particularly busy
time for von Bismarck: she acted for Cephalon on its
bid for Apax Partners-backed Zeneus Holdings, for
Derwent Valley Holdings on its merger with London
Merchant Securities under a scheme of
arrangement, and for Euronext on a possible bid for
the LSE.
But it was about more than just M&A: von
Bismarck also acted on a number of equity capital
markets deals, such as Premier Foods’ £460m rights
issue in relation to its acquisition of the Campbell
Soup Company.
Highly rated by her clients, von Bismarck looks
after Standard Chartered Bank, which she advised
on its £667m share placing to finance the offer for
Taiwan-based Hsinchu International Bank, as well as
Cable & Wireless and Tomkins.
A rising star in a very starry firmament. |
