| In August 2006 Nabarro Nathanson projects
partner Karen Andrews led a team advising the
London Borough of Merton advising on the part
termination of a six-school PFI project to make
room for two academies – a government
‘pathfinder’ project that was the first of its kind.
The deal was just the latest in a string of major
projects for Andrews. Recent years have seen work
on schemes under the Building Schools for the
Future umbrella for the likes of the London Borough
of Waltham Forest, Leicester City Council, Barnsley
Metropolitan Borough Council and South Tyneside
Council. The highly productive lawyer has also
advised on grouped schools PFI projects for Oldham
Metropolitan Borough Council and Redcar &
Cleveland Borough Council.
Andrews’ team was also the first to use the new
EU ‘competitive dialogue’ procurement process,
advising a number of public bodies, including the
Metropolitan Police, in relation to a series of major
outsourcing projects. |
