| There are few managing partners with as strong a
reputation for entrepreneurial chutzpah as
Jonathan Goldstein. And Olswang’s international
growth over the past year or so has done nothing to
dim this impression.
Towards the end of 2006 the firm announced it
was to open its first-ever overseas office – a German outpost in Berlin. In typical Goldstein fashion the
40-year-old managing partner had spotted an
opportunity – this time the chance to recruit a
bunch of former Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer
lawyers – and grabbed it before most of his rivals
realised it was even there.
The German move followed the major link-up in
2005 with Miami-headquartered US giant
Greenberg Traurig. Now that Goldstein has acquired
the taste for overseas matters, watch this space for
the next instalment. |
