| Baker & McKenzie partner Helen Bradley
single-handedly propelled her firm into the
corporate limelight last year with her sterling work
on various attempts to take over the LSE.
First Bradley advised Australian bank Macquarie
Bank on its audacious £1.5bn unilateral bid for the
bourse. She was later brought in by Greenhill & Co
– lead financial adviser to Nasdaq – on its £2.9bn
cash offer.
Such high-profile M&A activity is all the more
impressive considering that, up until four years ago,
Bradley had focused on private company work and
she was only made partner in 2001. She switched
to public M&A work after an 18-month stint at the
Takeover Panel when she was still an assistant –
the first Bakers lawyer to be seconded.
Other Bradley clients include Olayan
Investments, Hawkpoint Partners, EQT and
North Sound Capital.
