| The envy of fashion victims the world over,
Shoosmiths IP and IT head Gary Assim boasts
designer clients, including Jimmy Choo.
In September Assim and his team scored a victory
for the brand by forcing high street retailer New
Look to pay £80,000 in damages for copyright
infringement, as well as to withdraw more than
1,000 shoes modelled on Choo designs.
Assim also advises other designer clients on
commercial issues and brand protection, including
Fenn Wright Manson and Georgina Goodman.
On top of that Assim coordinates the firm’s
commercial relationships with other clients,
including DaimlerChrysler, Lambretta, Lee Cooper,
Thorntons, TK Maxx, Volkswagen Group, USA PRO
and Henkel.
Assim heads the firm’s Milton Keynes
office, having led the team that opened it in
