The spats between Australian contractor Multiplex
and several other parties also involved in the
construction of the new Wembley Stadium were
prominent rows last year.
Clifford Chance litigation partner Alex Panayides
was the lucky lawyer to be handed the mandate of
advising Multiplex on its case. After months of
argument and several weeks in court, the builders
secured victory over steel contractor Cleveland
Bridge in June. In October Panayides helped
his client negotiate a settlement with Football
Association subsidiary Wembley National
Stadium.
Other claims are ongoing. Based on Panayides’
record so far, Multiplex will be confident in the
knowledge that its interests are in the best possible
hands.
