Planning specialist Jocelyn Denton may have moved north when she joined Yorkshire firm Rollits in 2005, but much of her practice is still rooted in the south.
The former Ashurst lawyer is acting for three London boroughs on a trio of urban regeneration projects in the capital. The star is the £4bn, 150-acre Stratford City project, where Denton is acting for the London Borough of Newham. The project includes building work for the Olympic village and contains what, at some £120m, may be the largest Section 106 agreement by value ever.
Denton is also involved in the equally epic Silvertown Quays development, acting for the London Borough of Newham on a project that features nearly 5,000 residential units.
The hat-trick is completed by the Millharbour development in London’s Docklands. Denton is advising Tower Hamlets on what will be one of the tallest residential developments in Europe when completed. Denton won Tower Hamlets as a client when at Ashurst and the borough decided to stick with her when she moved. With her track record, it is easy to see why.
