Blackstone Chambers’ Dinah Rose has been quietly building a reputation as a stellar junior in the set’s core practice areas of public, human rights and employment law.
She acts as leading counsel as often as junior to a silk, and she receives rave reviews from fellow barristers and solicitors alike - "fantastic" being the term most often used.
In 2004, Rose’s most high-profile case saw her acting for former Merrill Lynch banker Stephanie Villalba in her £7.5m discrimination claim against the bank. Although Villalba lost a large portion of the case, she was partially successful and the appeal has yet to be heard.
Rose then acted for the General Medical Council (GMC) on cases such as the crucial ‘right to life’ judicial review of Burke v GMC (2004), as well as leading for the GMC on several misconduct cases. Expect big things from Rose in the future.
