Liverpool City Council's legal team had a tremendous year in 2003, not least due to work on the Paradise Street Development Area (PSDA). The team's efforts have brought forward the regeneration of 42 acres of derelict land between the River Mersey and Albert Docks. Planning permission to develop 2 million sq ft of land was granted to the city council along with development partner Grovesnor Henderson, despite fierce competition from rival developer Walton Group. The team was also heavily involved with the compulsory purchase order inquiry within the PSDA. The Secretary of State is expected to make a decision early this year.
