The Lawyer Global Litigation Top 50 report is the only ranking of international law firms by litigation and arbitration revenue and is essential reading for anyone seeking to benchmark their litigation and dispute resolution practices...
This year, The Lawyer’s annual ranking of the largest UK law firms by turnover is available as an interactive, digital benchmarking tool. For the first time this will allow you to manipulate each data set against the metrics of your choice.
Irwin Mitchell’s IMU Law and Business School programme, set up in partnership with the University of Law (ULaw) and the Chartered Legal Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx), has won the Development of Talent prize at this year’s Halsbury Legal Awards.
The programme uses internal and external experts to provide development opportunities for all staff from paralegal to partner level and also leads to externally validated degree level qualifications.
It is the second award for the programme which last year won the prize for Education and Training Initiative of the Year at the British Legal Awards again in recognition of its success.
In March, ULaw also won the ‘Best Preparation for Work Initiative (Higher Education)’ category of the Association of Graduate Recruiters’ Development Awards 2013 for its online Student Employability Programme (StEP) developed by ULaw’s Employability Service in response to concerns about access to the profession.
The ten-step programme to help aspiring lawyers prepare for a legal career is available free to anyone who registers on ULaw’s Future Lawyers Network website.
Sarah Hutchinson, Vice President (Business Development) at ULaw, said: “The fact that we have won three major awards in such a short space of time highlights The University of Law’s emphasis on innovation and quality in the development and delivery of our training and education programmes and in our services to students and law firm clients.”
Last week, students from the ULaw signed up alongside the Citizens Advice Bureau to provide a free family law email advice service to people in the North West (7 May 2013).
