The Lawyer Global Litigation Top 50 report is the only ranking of international law firms by litigation and arbitration revenue and is essential reading for anyone seeking to benchmark their litigation and dispute resolution practices...
This year, The Lawyer’s annual ranking of the largest UK law firms by turnover is available as an interactive, digital benchmarking tool. For the first time this will allow you to manipulate each data set against the metrics of your choice.
Second year law students at The City Law School are being offered the chance of an international arbitration summer internship with Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr’s London office.
Students obtaining the highest scores on the core LLB modules this year will be offered an interview with WilmerHale to secure the paid internship for this summer 2013.
Professor Carl Stychin, dean of the law school, commented: “This will provide our students with the rare opportunity to experience world class international legal practice in the heart of the City of London”.
WilmerHale’s international arbitration and dispute resolution practices have been involved in more than 600 proceedings in recent years, successfully representing clients in four of the largest institutional arbitrations, and several of the most significant ad hoc arbitrations, to arise in the past decade.
Centred in London, the 70-lawyer strong practice has team members in New York, Washington, Palo Alto, Berlin, Frankfurt, Brussels and Beijing.
Steven Finizio, partner in the international arbitration group at WilmerHale in London said “our award-winning Arbitration Internship programme welcomes applications from exceptional candidates from all jurisdictions who want to learn more about international arbitration. Our practice is currently particularly interested in candidates with an English law background, and those with fluency in more than one language. More information about our work, and about the internship programme, is available here.”
Interns at WilmerHale typically work closely on active cases with lawyers at all levels. In the last year, interns have assisted with multiple evidentiary hearings in London, Amsterdam and Vienna.
Intern responsibilities include legal research, writing first drafts of memoranda and legal submissions, factual research and preparing of speeches, academic papers and textbook chapters.
