With the increased cost of a university education, Field Fisher Waterhouse has launched an in-house academy to train school leavers.
Six post A level students will be recruited to the programme Step2Success and given the opportunity to embark upon a legal career at Field Fisher.
Within five years of commencing the programme the recruits wil be able to qualify as lawyers through the Chartered Legal Executive route.
Once recruits have joined Field Fisher in autumn 2013 they will undertake a bespoke programme of induction into the firm and will receive supervision, training and support in the office, including in house tutorials, as well as through their studies.
They will commence their CILEx Level 3 Professional Diploma in Law and Practice shortly after starting work.
Field Fisher managing partner, Michael Chissick, said: “The increasing cost of going to university has stopped some young people from pursuing their career of choice. This programme will help to ensure bright, talented aspiring lawyers, still have the chance to achieve their goals. This initiative will run alongside our graduate trainee programme where we will continue to recruit up to 15 trainees.”
Jenny Pelling, Business Director of CILEx Law School, said: “This is a landmark programme for a City law firm, and we’re delighted to be creating an in-house academy for their new CILEx recruits.”
