  • There is NO other species of animal that is medicated or adulterated like horses. Horses are not only medicated for minor, major and elective health reasons but are medicated for performance enhancement and for breeding purposes - all without any consideration as 'food'! The FSA tried to calm fears with bute positive horsemeat but there is a real reason it is illegal. Bute is not a 'little' illegal - it is illegal. Pretty hard to break the law a 'little' legally unless of course you know you won't be prosecuted. The truth is - they still do not know where all that horsemeat originated from and if the horses were actually safe for human consumption which I would guess not. How many drugs did they NOT test for that are commonly used on horses? US does not regulated horses as 'food' and is not approved to ship horsemeat to the EU, so US horse dealers fabricate drug histories, export the horses to CA and MX where they are labeled Canadian and Mexican, after they are slaughtered, and then exported to the EU and other countries. Entirely UNREGULATED, largely adulterated US horses entering foreign food chains.... They haven't devised a test to test for all the legal and illegal performance enhancement drugs used on US horses.... It is terrorism.
