Holman Fenwick Willan is mourning the death of aviation finance partner David Relf, who passed away at the beginning of the month.
Relf, who started his career as a tax specialist before moving into aviation, joined Holman Fenwick from Stephenson Harwood in 2007.
A holder of a private pilot’s licence, Relf was recognised as a leading practitioner in the field of private jets and developed a broad client base that included governments, airlines, brokers, suppliers, advisers and financiers.
Holman Fenwick aviation partner Adam Shire said: “David was very highly regarded in the aviation sector and we have received messages of condolence from people all over the world who were clients as well as personal friends of his. We will all miss him.”
The firm’s asset finance head John Forrester added: “David was a world-class lawyer with a tremendous love of the corporate jet world and as such was highly respected both within the firm and by his contemporaries. He was a pleasure to work with and will be greatly missed.”
