Hogan Lovells loses German banking head to Noerr

The head of Hogan Lovells’ German banking practice has left the firm for partnership at German independent Noerr.

Real estate and acquisition finance expert Olaf Grabowski will join Noerr’s corporate finance practice in Frankfurt. Grabowski had been a partner at Hogan Lovells legacy firm Lovells.

Noerr is particularly keen on utilising Grabowski’s experience in transactions in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), with international project financing, commodity trade financing and export financing.

Noerr has seven offices across CEE, in Bratislava, Bucharest, Budapest, Kiev, Moscow, Prague and Warsaw.

“Due to his broad expertise, Olaf Grabowski is the ideal addition to both our young and dynamic corporate finance team in Frankfurt and our international finance practice,” said co-managing partner Dieter Schenk.

Noerr’s corporate finance team now has 13 members, five of whom are partners.

    The firm hasn't had a decent German finance practice since Lindemann and Schwennicke left to set up their own firm. Can't really claim to be a major international player with only one banking partner in Germany!

    HL can probably live with the loss - they've still got the excellent and highly regarded Katlen Bloecker on board.
