Hill ;Dickinson ;is preparing to extend its international footprint with the launch of a Singapore office in March.

The new venture will be focused on international marine work, in common with the North West firm’s only other foreign office in Piraeus, Greece.

Shipping and casualty partner Tony Goldsmith will move out from London to run the operation. He will be joined by associate Andrew Lee. Two support staff have already been hired and a further two fee-earners will be recruited from the local market.

Goldsmith said: “This is our first platform in Asia. We have good clients in Korea and Japan and we’ll be offering those clients a service that’s closer to home.”

The firm is in the process of negotiating a two-year lease for office space in the city-state’s central business district capable of housing eight lawyers.
