ITV's Blind date hostess Cilla Black is heading for a date of her own in the High Court with Granada Television and Channel 4 Television Corporation. She has launched a damages claim against the two accusing them of wrongly rescinding a contract she says she entered into orally with Granada in 1996 and 1997 to take part in a TV programme. She claims that she was induced to enter the contract by misrepresentation on the part of Granada which knew that what it was telling her was false. In addition to seeking damages she will also seek court orders to prevent Granada or Channel 4 from transmitting any part of the programme in question.
