Hextalls has boosted its IP and tech practice with the hire of corporate partner Peter Brown from Michael Simkins.
Brown specializes in non-contentious IP, advising clients on software agreements, branding and image rights licensing.
Michael Clinch, head of Hextalls’ IP group, said Brown would also help grow the firm’s sports practice: “The sports practice launched last year and has taken off. We are keen to use Peter’s skills in that area, advising clubs and players on image rights and licensing agreements.”
Clinch said the IP team had plans to expand further, and has also hired associate Sarah McLennan from DFM Beckman.
The firm Michael Simkins was launched last November after The Simkins Partnership dissolved in October. Nine former Simkins partners launched rival media and entertainment boutique Swan Turton.
