Herbies turns to Gide for Moscow infrastructure hire

Herbert Smith’s Moscow practice has turned to Gide Loyrette Nouel for the hire of its first dedicated infrastructure partner as the firm predicts a rush in projects over the coming years.

Olga Revzina, who is head of Gide’s PPP group in Russia, will join the firm along with associate Maria Minskova. Revzina’s start date is not yet finalised.

Revzina advises companies, consortiums and lenders on public utilities, energy infrastructure and transport projects. She also advises Russian states granting concessions to set up PPPs and drafting laws on concessions.

She will be the first partner at Herbert Smith’s Moscow office to focus exclusively on infrastructure projects.

Moscow managing partner Allen Hanen said: “Russia has a huge need for new infrastructure in the coming years, which will require investment in transport, water, waste and power projects. We expect widescale utilisation of PPP models to bring in necessary private sector skills and in hiring Olga we bring to the firm one of the few leading Russian experts in this area.”
